In organizing the company sports fest, Magna Kultura partners with the HRD and Sports Committee; internally making the event a team-building activity within the company.  Teams are formed with Team Captains, co-captains and even playing Coaches for each and every game.  Game manuals are provided by Magna Kultura, along with team line-up sheets and other vital tournament materials.

Games like Patintero, Tumbang Preso, Luksong Tinik, Luksong Lubid, and other Pinoy Games are as challenging as any Western sport.  It requires agility, skills, and strategy.   Employees match players against other department teams.  Even cheer chants are created to rally team spirit.  And, just by being Filipino, makes it more fun.

Company Mini-Olympics Event Organizing For Team-Building

The Traditional Filipino Games are back in the mainstream of society, and private corporations have been using it as a team-building company sportsfest.

Filipino companies have made Larong Pinoy a Mini-Olympics Sport Fest, energizing employees with games that they use to play in their childhood years. It's a great way to build camaraderie.

Over a thousand companies Filipino corporations have organized a Pinoy Mini-Olympics sports fests, and re-discovered the fun of the Larong Pinoy games. 

Human Resource Managers have testified that a Larong Pinoy Sports Fest is truly a one-of-kind event-activity that leaves lasting impression among employees. It bonds employees like real “magkababata” (i.e., childhood friends). 

Playing the Traditional Filipino Street Games has become an alternative to implementing the usual Western sports activities.  The Filipino Games is an activity where both young and old employees can play and enjoy, (unlike other sports where only the younger generation can play).

Magna Kultura Foundation is the organizer of the Larong Pinoy company sportsfests. The organization is the national advocate of the Traditional Filipino Street Games.  

In the Y-2008, HRDs of Filipino companies started calling on Magna Kultura to organize team-building activities using Larong Pinoy games as platform for bonding employees.  

Magna Kultura organized the company sports fests, hassle-free for the HRDs: from planning to implementation, with tournament systems & procedures, game manuals with playing rules for each and every Filipino game; and running the games with referees and game marshals. The company’s organizing committee just sat back and relaxed; playing with the rest of their fellow-employees. 

Magna Kultura continues to conduct Palarong Pinoy sports fests for companies, on top of their on-going sports outreach programs in schools and barangays.  Magna Kultura works with HRDs and sports committees to conduct “proudly Pinoy” games that transforms the Filipino work-force into Communi-Teams.

The Traditional Filipino Street Games is back in the mainstream of Philippine society, and has become a popular sports fest activities for local corporations.  

Magna Kultura Foundation, an arts and culture organization who has been conducting Larong Pinoy sports clinics and tournaments in schools and Barangay communities since Y-2003, started implementing team-building sports fests among Philippine corporation. 

The promotion of Larong Pinoy among companies as a Mini-Olymipcs Sports Fest is Magna Kultura's effort to make adults fellow-advocates in the revival of the Filipino games. By reviving their interest in the games, it is probable that they would teach it among their children.

 

 

Since Y-2008, over a thousand companies have conducted Larong Pinoy sports fests. Human Resource Department heads saw Larong Pinoy as an effective company team-bonding activity among employees. 

In Y-2009, private business corporations started requesting for Magna Kultura to organize the  Larong Pinoy event as a company sports fest activity. 

The Traditional Filipino Street Games has become an effective instrument for bridging employee relationships. The games are able to make employees from different departments easily get acquainted  with each other; and, like childhood playmates, the bonding experience goes beyond months, even years, after the event.

 

The thought of conducting a Larong Pinoy Sports Fest for the company thrills employees into doing things that they did in the childhood days, especially the elder adults. 

 From day one, after HRD announces Larong Pinoy as the sports fest activity, the office environment become high on enthusiasm; making employees talk about the games, their childhood experience, and even practicing within the office. It brings the corporate community alive.

And what's best is that the organizers, Magna Kultura Foundation, conducts it in such a way that even the HRD staff and sports committee can play on the event day without the hassle of running the company event.

Larong Pinoy Sports Clinics Attracts Youths and Parents

Communities in Metro-Manila re-experience the fun of the Traditional Filipino Street Games during the Barangay outreach tour of the Larong Pinoy Sports Clinic conducted by Magna Kultura Foundation, the national advocate of the Filipino Heritage Games in the country.   

Parents and grandparents brought their children to the sports clinic to let their children learn the games the same games they all used to play when they were young.  

While many of the new generations are familiar with the most popular of  games, the Larong Sports Clinic added new knowledge and techniques for children to play the game with an amateur playing skill.   

Magna Kultura taught children the official rules of playing the games, as well as the proper ways of making the ground markers in the playing field.

Larong Pinoy Sports Clinic are being held in urban cities teaching kids popular Filipino street games like Patintero, Tumbang Preso, Piko, Luksong Tinik and many games that our parents and elders use to play.

The fun training sessions teaches participants detailed mechanics of each and every game, the proper posture and movements, with systematic techniques on how to play each game and win the match. 

The 1st Part is a 20-minute session teaching participants the game mechanics, with systematic drills for proper execution, posture and movement.

The 2nd Part is a 3 ½ half hours session where participants are grouped into teams and conducted with actual game play; and, this time, orienting participants in the tournament formats and officiating rules.  

It's fascinating to see the kids to execute each drill exercise, and giggling their way through each and every task.

The first Larong Pinoy Sports Clinics were launched by Magna Kultura Foundation in Y-2008 in Barangay Communities in Metro-Manila. The venues were jam-packed with kids who enlisted.  

The event did not need much hyping and announcement because when word went out around among the neighborhood about the Larong Pinoy Clinics, parents who knew the games signed-up they children in the sports activity. 

Larong Pinoy is the traditional Filipino street games handed down from generations; it is the games of our heritage (Laro ng Lahi). It is cherished by elderly adults (grandparents), parents, and it is played by today's youth.

Patuloy nating buhayin ang laro ng ating lahi sa panahon ng modernisasyon.  Ito ay yaman n gating lahi.  Ipamahagi natin ito sa bagong kabataan.
